Take Your Keystone Outback to the Indiana State Fair

If you missed the Ohio State Fair at the end of the July, don’t worry-there’s still time to take your Keystone Outback to the Indiana State Fair! This true celebration of summer in America is being held August 2nd-18th at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis.

It’s nearly three weeks of food, fun, and farm animals, and this year’s Fair promises to be one of the biggest extravaganzas that the Midwest has ever seen.

Don’t worry about packing an air popper for your fifth wheel’s kitchen when you come, because popcorn is this year’s featured product at the fair. In fact, get ready for the world’s largest popcorn ball to be unveiled on August 3rd in the Ball State Ag/Hort Building area, where it will remain throughout the fair. There will also be a popcorn maze, and Trail’s End popcorn snacks available, the sales of which support the programs offered by Boy Scouts of America. As Cindy Hoye, Indiana State Fair Executive Director explains, “”People have long known Indiana for being a tremendous corn-producing state, but very few folks know about our popcorn production. This is the year we make sure all Hoosiers realize that their main movie-watching snack was likely grown and manufactured right here in Indiana.”

But that’s not all. With everything from a Ferris wheel to a log flume in the Midway amusement park area, fair events will also include free musical performances from Kevin Costner and his rockabilly band Modern West, eighties favorites Styx, and country superstars Montgomery Gentry. Concerts scheduled also include gospel, Christian contemporary, and Hispanic Music Day, along with appearances from popular musical acts Blind Melon, Orleans, Chuck Negron, and Christopher Cross. With an outdoor ice show, a pirate themed high dive performance in the Family Fun Park area, and an animation exhibit, you’ll be getting up early in your Keystone Laredo to take advantage of all the fun!
